Kidding all aside, there is an interesting trend going on. The Taco Bell Hotel and Resort in Palm Springs that has a 'no vacancy' sign on their website. Atari building video game-themed hotels - VR and AR-centric hotels in eight states with the first one opening this year in Phoenix. These hotels reportedly having a “nostalgic and retro meets modern look” and feel like “staying inside an Atari.” Or even a Trivial Pursuit hotel that customizes your experience based on your ability to answer trivia questions correctly - the difference between getting haute cuisine or ramen for dinner.


It looks like the world of the 'pop up' has moved to 'brick and mortar'. Brands are turning to the hospitality industry to fully immerse consumers into what their brand stands for. Simply going through the exercise of identifying what your brand would be like if it were a hotel is a powerful one in itself, even if your hotel only is one for 18 people. It allows you to articulate what kind of connection and relationship
